Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is facing criticism after reports from his Atlanta, Georgia concert claimed that fans waving American flags were removed from the show.
Critics are now questioning the singer’s public image and political messaging.
Diljit reportedly holds U.S. citizenship and benefits from the opportunities, freedom, and wealth available in America — yet at his concerts he regularly brings the Indian flag onto the stage while American flags are allegedly unwelcome.
Many online are asking:
“If America is good enough for citizenship, business, tours, and millions of dollars… then why disrespect the American flag in America?”
The controversy has grown further because Diljit has openly shown support and loyalty toward India’s leadership. He previously met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pinned photos of that meeting on his X profile, proudly showcasing the interaction.
Critics argue that someone using a U.S. passport while promoting only Indian nationalism should also respect the country that gave him citizenship and success.
Tonight’s incident in Atlanta has now sparked a wider debate online about dual loyalty, free expression, and whether political symbolism should be allowed equally at international concerts.
